According to the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), accessible bathrooms are required to be 60” by 60” and be unobstructed by fixtures. The doorway to the washroom must be able to accommodate a wheelchair and must be between 32” to 48” wide.

ADA standard roll-in showers must be 30” wide by 60” deep to accommodate wheelchairs and any assistive devices.

ADA requires safety bars to be installed 33” to 36” from the shower floor. The water faucets and controls should be installed 38” to 48” above the shower floor. A shower seat must be provided that is 24” long and 16” wide.
