York University is the third largest university in Canada with 41,000 full-time undergrads. Many of those students live on York’s campus, away from home for
the first time. Daily access to a quality shower certainly washes away some of the homesickness.
The York University project revolved around newly constructed student housing units. York University leased the land and Campus Suites built four units known as ‘The Quad.’ The construction company needed certain expertise in building 500 shower units.
They knew Bath Fitter could handle the scope of such a huge project. The logistics made sense so did the proximity, since Bath Fitter has a franchise within minutes of campus. Said location is run by brothers Craig and Chris Snooks.
Work began in December of 2016 and concluded in February of 2017. “This was a great win for us,” says Chris, looking back. “Due to the amount of work, the timeline, and the final look, we formed a strong partnership with both the university and the construction firm involved.”
Peter Di Gaetano, President and CEO for the firm, also has great memories of that project. “What a success,” says Peter.
“Not only was it completed on time and on budget, but it also still looks beautiful over six years later.”
As for the students calling The Quad home, that means zero service calls and no disruption to their studies and daily life at school. Happy students mean happy parents and a university administration thrilled with the results.
